No. LOG footage gives you the most flexibility, but you can also use the creative LUTs on normalized Rec.709 footage. If you shoot LOG, apply the matching Base LUT first, then apply a creative look.
Q Can I use this on Rec.709?
Yes. Use the creative LUTs directly on Rec.709 / standard footage, then adjust intensity, exposure, contrast, and white balance to taste.
